Christine DelGreco Bisson earned a Master of Science (MS) Degree from Northeastern University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree from Boston University. She is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor 1 (LADC 1) and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts. She is a member in good standing with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the National Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC), and the EMDR International Association. Christine has worked in the field of mental health and substance use for 20 years in a variety of roles, clinical settings, and levels of care. Currently, she provides individual trauma therapy and substance use counseling to adults at who are interested in resolving the impacts that trauma has had on their lives and/or exploring the role substances have played in their lives.
Christine DelGreco Bisson has specialized training in a variety of modalities of therapy, but her training has focused on developing proficiency in cognitive and exposure therapies. Specifically, she has been trained in Cognitive Therapy at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD, Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Christine also has significant training and experience working in the field of domestic violence, sexual assault, and substance use.
Christine DelGreco Bisson is an EMDR Certified Therapist with the EMDR International Association. This designation indicates that she has attended EMDRIA accredited trainings, engaged in extensive consultation with EMDR Consultants, and has practiced these skills with a variety of clients. As an EMDR Certified Therapist, she has voluntarily met standards of consultation, clinical practice, and continuing education to provide EMDR therapy. An EMDR Certified Therapist is committed to fulfill ethical standards and is engaged in continuing education. To maintain this certification, she must continue to satisfy the EMDRIA requirement including completion of continuing education requirements and adherence to ethical standards. Her training has focused on treatment of PTSD, complex childhood trauma and attachment wounds, sexual trauma, and navigating recent or ongoing traumas in individual or group EMDR settings. She is specifically trained in the Phase Model of EMDR Treatment, Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP), and Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP).
Christine DelGreco Bisson is a STRONG STAR Network Provider for both Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD and Written Exposure Therapy. In order to earn this designation, she participated in live interactive trainings and engaged in at least 6 months of weekly case consultations sessions with expert consultants while treating clients with these evidence-based treatments to ensure that she delivered these treatments with proficiency. Christine also continues to attend ongoing advanced trainings with the STRONG STAR Training initiative, and engages in regular consultation, to ensure continued development of skills to deliver these treatments to a range of trauma survivors. Christine was sponsored by the Home Base Veteran and Family Care Program, which is located within Massachusetts General Hospital, to attend these trainings to ensure that there are enough community providers prepared to support service members and their families within the community.
Additionally, Christine is a Registered Yoga Teacher – 200 (RYT-200) with the Yoga Alliance. Her training in yoga has focused on traditional forms of Hatha Yoga through the Finding Inner Peace Yoga School, Principle-Based Partner Yoga, Yin Yoga through the Summers School of Yin Yoga, and Yoga For Trauma (Y4T) through the Center for Yoga and Trauma Recovery. Christine’s background in allied fields allows her to integrate research-based somatic techniques supportive of healing and recovery and to make referrals for her patients to support their therapeutic work.
